At The Art Museum in Tønder and The Art Museum Brundlund Castle the anniversary of the Reunification and the year of friendship between Denmark and Germany will be celebrated in 2020 with a joint exhibition. By purchasing this package, you’ll have plenty of time to experience both museums, as two nights in Aabenraa are included.
For Better or Worse – Exchanges between Danish and German Art is an exhibition looking at the relationship between the Danish and the German art scene during a period of 200 years from 1820 until 2020 – a period characterised by both inspiration and friendship between the two countries, but also hostility here in Denmark towards the artistic trends emanating from Germany.
Begin your experience at The Art Museum in Tønder, which houses the historical exhibition. Then embark on the picturesque trip to Aabenraa, where you stay overnight at Skovridergaarden, leaving you refreshed for the following day’s visit to The Art Museum Brundlund Castle in Aabenraa. Today the park and rooms at the old castle are home to the works of Danish and German contemporary artists.
Overnight accommodation at Skovridergaarden’s Ferielejlighed. The holiday apartment is situated in the outskirts of Aabenraa in peaceful surroundings close to the forest. The apartment has Wi-Fi, TV with a full range of channels, linen (bedclothes, towels, tea towels, etc.), small kitchen with cooker and oven, bathroom with shower, washing machine and tumble dryer.
